I wouldn’t have expected that old IDM electronica star Uwe Zahn alias Arovane would also build bridges into the more experimental regions of ambient and sound art. Reihen (12k, November 19) definitely remembers the strict virtues of Zahn’s work, which originated around the turn of the millennium, but takes a large part of the volume and harshness from the processed sounds, so that something fleeting and delicate remains. A very positive development. It is never too late to try something new, especially if you succeed as well as here.
