Review of Slow Machines [12k2044]

Sound As Language (.COM)

Michael Grigoni teams up with Stephen Vitiello and quickly follows up his beautiful ambient guitar album, 2019′s Mount Carmel, with Slow Machines. Grigoni provides guitars here and Vitiello the electronics. The pair merge rather seamlessly to create something distinct from their own solo art. The album title Slow Machines really does frame the work brilliantly. There’s a calm southern charm to these songs with Grigoni hailing from Durham, NC and Vitiello from Richmond, VA. These two sound so perfectly intertwined on Slow Machines one would expect the pair to continue creating music together in the future. Let’s hope that’s the case as Slow Machines is a soft, slow stunner.
