Review of Harp Swells [12k2059]

Rockerilla (IT)

After a brilliant ten-year career Will Samson debuts on 12k with his most romantic album, Harp Swells. Six songs of melancholic ambient built with a few acoustic instruments immersed in gallons of echoes and reverberations. In absolute harmony with the aesthetics of Taylor Deupree’s label, the English musician recorded an album on tiptoe, using only an old analogue tape recorder, thanks to which the timbres of the instruments are dilated and immersed in gallons of ambient stellar. The album was conceived and recorded in Portugal, with the help of Casper Clausen of Efterklang. INFINITE REPEAT.
