An abundant dozen albums in less than ten years of activity have fueled the cult around the figure of Federico Durand. The Argentine musician draws watercolors using sounds instead of brushes. For the new album, La Nina Junco, the challenge was to use only one synthesizer during recording, an old Crumar Performer Synthesizer connected to two recorders and a Roland Space Echo RE-201 unit. Durand is enough to build a handful of moving melodies, with micro-movements making every sound seem like a symphony full of melancholy.
