Oscillating the dawn chorus.
From his remote studio in rural New York state, Taylor Deupree harnesses the nature and stillness around him. But even for the most dedicated nature lover, there comes a time, usually toward the end of winter, when we’re all in need of change. Ushering in the new season in his own way, the ambient and minimal pioneer imagines the dawn chorus of long-migrated birds and bugs using, for a change, no field recordings. With just one Eurorack oscillator, Deupree’s self-released “Chorus (Dusk/Dawn)” recreates the comforting sound of morning life, set to gently drifting tones which mimic the sun lighting the land around.
