After the five-year silence following “Pitch, Paper & Foil” (2015), Christopher Bissonnette has embarked on a new chapter in his sound research.“Wayfinding” confirms its direction, a few months after “The Wine Dark Sea,” published at the beginning of the year: the introduction of acoustic elements and field recordings on the synthetic cerebral ambience of the Canadian artist has opened up horizons of enchanting contemplation. Short harmonic tiles and prolonged drones unfold placidly along the course of eight impressively constructed pieces, not by chance associated with a photographic sequence of “domestic landscapes,” of which they reflect the precious balance.
