Review of Perpetual [12k1082]

Melodie & Rhythmus (DE)

(Translated from German)

The airy arrangement of the sounds of this three-part suite creates a surface tension, where rich improvised acoustic and etektronic ktange create a strangely supple, but at the same time goose bumping music. With its sound aesthetic, the album is a bridge to the jazz ambient atmosphere of some ECM recordings by Steve Reich or Jon Balke. Also memories of the meditative music from Brian Eno’s Apollo period awake. But these are merely references, but ultimately Perpetual is progressive contemporary chamber music.
