Review of Snowmelt [12k2052]

Groove (DE)

The second new release on Taylor Deupree’s label 12k, which has been operating at a consistently high level for 20 years, is no less gratifying, perhaps a little more to be expected, because the combination of acoustic guitar plus digital processing by Australians Seaworthy & Matt Rösner has long been tried and tested and has been proven to be wonderful. Which is completely confirmed on Snowmelt (12k, November 19). Delicate deep listening soundscapes based on field recordings from the national park around Australia’s highest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko, with sparingly used acoustic instruments and even more economical electronic processing, always very close to silence. Just beautiful.
