Review of Wind Dynamic Organ, Deviations [12k2062]

DA Music (BE)

Both coarse-grained drone pieces also form the basis for collaborations with Taylor Deupree on the six-part “Wind Dynamic Organ, Deviations.” Here, breathing space is added, although a face mask wouldn’t be a luxury: at the beginning, it sounds as if GAS recordings are slowly rotating in a thick cloud of dust. Regularly, (sometimes droney) synths and electronic piano further broaden the palette, tape noise and scratches are added, tones are bent or placed in cyclical patterns, and dense electro-acoustics thus dominate the soundscape.
