Coming
from the experimental electronic music scene, Sébastien Roux
has played in Europe, Australia and United States. He has been invited
by several festivals like Musique Action (Nancy) Nuit d’hiver
(Marseille), Netmage (Bologna), Whynote (Dijon), Présence
Electronique (Paris), J’en Rêve (Fondation Cartier Paris),
Musica (Strasbourg), Net Days (Bruxelles), Santarcangelo (Italy).
In 2006, Roux had a residency in the studios of La Muse en Circuit
to work on his piece Oblique, for cello and electronics
(premiere: “Extension du domaine de la note” festival /Paris)
He also spent a 15 days residency at the school of fine arts of
Nice (Villa Arson) with Eddie Ladoire to work on a radio piece project.
Roux has worked with French sound artist Vincent Epplay, on Klavier
integral, a piece commissioned by GRM as well as acommissioned soundtrack
for French archives of the 20th century architecture by the Museum
of contemporary art of Vitry.
In 2005, he worked on an improvised music project with drummer Leonzio
Cherubini and viola player Garth Knox.
Since 2003, he has been working as musical assistant at IRCAM, where
he mainly collaborates with composer Georges Aperghis (Avis de Tempête,
Happy End, Dans le mur).
He has been awarded for the sixth international radio art contest,
organized by la Muse en Circuit.
His work is released by the labels apestaartje, 12k, Carpark and
Room 40, and by n-rec and optical sound for the heller project.
