1897 is another great installment in this lackadaisical trio’s pursuit of the urban pastoral. Webb’s guitar is centre stage and he’s a great, understated player, threading needlepoint phrases through these mood pieces, rather like watching oxide flake off a spooling reel of home movies. 3 stars.
