limited-edition stereo lathe cut 12″ single
MAX 50 COPIES WILL BE CUT AND SOLD

In advance of the upcoming, long-awaited new Shuttle358 album, known right now only as CYPIWB, 12k is offering a very limited edition lathe cut single that includes a track from the album as well a b-side that won’t be on the physical version of the full-length.

SHIPPING
Because of the time it takes to cut each copy and the demand of our lathe-cutter, the records will ship in about six weeks.

WHAT IS A LATHE CUT RECORD?
Lathe cut records are individually cut polycarbonate records. They are cut in real-time, one at a time, and typically in very small runs. The audio quality is quite good, but not as hi-fi as a traditionally pressed vinyl record. The higher price of lathe cut records reflects the time and skill it needs to make each one. The hand-made process of these records lends a more idiosyncratic aesthetic as each record is, on many levels, unique. They are viewed more as an art object than a mass-produced record.

CARING FOR YOUR LATHE CUT
Treat your lathe cut like you would a normal record. Take note, however, that the polycarbonate used tends to attract more static electricity, and thus, dust, than a vinyl record. Regularly and carefully wiping down the record will ensure a cleaner playback.
