VISIT A duo consisting of Craig Tattersall and Andrew Hargreaves, with a sound occasionally reminiscent of Minamo. 12k continues to expand their sound palette, since Ballads of the Research Department features vocals (guests Chris Stewart and Cuushe) and “acoustic” instruments (piano, percussion), in addition to the ambiant electronics at the heart of the label’s revered style. This is a highly enjoyable record in four 10-minute movements. A delicate production, trippy yet well-directed. Dreamy yet constructed music.
