With Hidden Noise
Aspen Art Museum, Colorado
June 10–July 10, 2011

With Hidden Noise makes its debut this June at the Aspen Art Museum. ICI’s latest Exhibition in a Box will be part of a series of programs held over the summer in a temporary pavilion designed by architect Shigeru Ban to mark the site of the museum’s future building.

Curated by Stephen Vitiello, With Hidden Noise is an exhibition that explores sound art with evocative works, some drawing from recognizable, traditional instruments and field recordings, and others masked through electronic processes. A self-contained, surround-sound exhibition, it presents the works of leading practitioners including Taylor Deupree, Jennie C. Jones, Pauline Oliveros, Andrea Parkins, Steve Peters, Steve Roden, Michael J. Schumacher, and Stephen Vitiello.

With Hidden Noise is made possible, in part, by grants from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts; the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation; and the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation.
