Here is the screen grab for the emulation of the Roland TR606 BD, SD, LT & HT.

The patch has lots of room for improvement, I will be working on it some more when I get the time, but anyone does any let me know :)

Here is the HATS. I cheated/was lazy so this is one sound, not the HHC & HHO as it should be. But I will do that sometime.

And lastly this is the CYMBAL, which is very similar to HATS. The real TR606 uses the same bunch of 6 Oscillators, and just has different Envelopes and Filters I think.

thanks, martin! i had a look at that schematic that you linked to on your last post.. it made a lot of sense... very interesting!

curious.. have you gotten into the logic modules much yet? that's one area of the NM that is quite intimidating. most of my sounds are oscillators, filters, randomizers, etc.. the more easy-to-grasp stuff......

Yeah that schematic was like a holy grail when I found it. I believe the site has other papers on other machines, although I haven't looked at any yet. Might be worth investigating.

As for the Logic modules, yes I have been using them on pretty much everything if I can. I was exactly the same and avoided them finding them intimidating, but they are actually really not bad at all. You should definitely get stuck in, your'll wonder as did I, why you avoided them.

I looked into the logic modules first as I like the idea of starting with all frequencies and then filter that down, and using them for patterns too. Its the classic technique they would have used back in the day. And it makes sense as both areas kind of n one module, time and frequency.

You can do really nice shifting of multiple patterns, in beats or panning or anything really. As always it is just a case of finding those modules that work with others well enough to suit the sound your after.

All the logic modules basically do is alter trigger signals, delaying, or altering a pattern, inverting the signal. Its like the gate of cv and gate.

Its really versatile I find.

Actually I have had a really slow day and just about to do the next upload, its 2am here so it has to be a quick one. I will do something basic with them and post the patch on here, as was thinking to do this anyway, I have a good reason to now.

Here is Snd 187's patch.

I created this using much of what I have learned along the way, making lot of use of the logic modules in various ways.
It sounds a bit rough at I done it between 2am-4am, I really should sleep :)

Hey Everyone

I just created something in tonights upload that immediately made me think of everyone over here at the 12k forum. I wanted to share it with you all :)

I hope to be back on this forum more than I have been, putting up some Nord Modular bits to share, I have just been crazy busy with starting a new job and because of this its been a time of learning, adjusting and today came as a reminder of whats more important :)

Its the more textured sound that I done a spell of a few months ago, so thought the listeners here might enjoy it.

I would love to work on more sounds like this, but I often feel the city has a feeling of noise that is hard to escape. I need to get away from the city and maybe rent a nice cottage by the sea and create some delicate music there, would be nice.

Yeah, the Nord is amazing. Actually a good friend of mine has just bought the Nord G1 keyboard off e-bay today after I convinced him
I love the keyboard version, I think I need to maybe get one myself next year.

Hey all

Thought I would share two things.

The first is I will sharing some patches on my blog from my Nord uploads at www.mono-log.org soon. These will be the emulation patches mainly, Tr-606, Tr-808, Tb-303.

Although I have used the original machines sound as a reference I would say they are more about making good sounds and variations more than accurately copying…although obviously the originals sound pretty amazing.

I will post back when they are up, I am to get it done today.

The second thing is for those who enjoyed following my blog uploads, which incidentally is still going, although using additional gear to the Nord G1…my partner (and future wife :D:D) is doing her own blog for similar reason as me, and is revisiting many of the uploads I created while she is back in Taiwan seeing family. During this time you can hear some of the more textured and tone like uploads created this time last year, but re-worked by Lucia using various software.

I think what she does to the sounds is incredible, and for those familiar with her sound, I think you can really hear that tense and building quality that nobody does better than her.

I think it's definitely time something happened with these more textured and tone based uploads, and this year will be the year it happens, even if it is me releasing it.

Have a listen, it's very Nord Modular sound, but tweaked within software.

Ok I have uploaded some Nord Modular G1 patches to share…finally.

If you haven't got a G1 and have a G2, you could still open these in an old editor and have a peek… you never know you might be encouraged to copy them to G2 format

So these patches are based on those pesky Roland machines, the TB-303, TR-606, TR-808 and TR-909.
The 606 and 808 are probably the best, the 303 is interesting and the 909 is…pretty err…yeah.

Anyway, I am sure there is lots to learn form all. Feel free to modify them and send them back to me, show me how I can improve etc.

I hope you enjoy them.
