Any suggestions for a good controller ?

I am really tired mixing inside the DAW and I am looking for a good controller for Ableton and Logic. For the record, i can spend 1.000 euros or $1.400 and i would be really happy if i could find one that would give me over 8 channels to map at the same time.
So, any recommendations ?

do you need keys? pads? or just sliders and knobs? or sliders only?

maybe Mackie MCU Pro would be what you are looking for?

or check out zoom r24. it's half the money you want to spend. you get a controller with 8 tracks - faders, transport, plus 5 buttons you can assign as you please. supports Logic out of the box and additionally you get a drum machine, an audio interface, a sampler and multichannel recorder within one unit. and for the rest of the money you could buy yourself another piece of hardware.

No keys or pads just faders, knobs and transport. I think most of those controllers offer 8 motorized tracks.

The Mackie MCU Pro looks really great and you can expand it later if you want.

and for the rest of the money you could buy yourself another piece of hardware.

That's the idea behind this post...If i can find a good controller for half the money maybe i can spend the rest for UAD plug-ins which is a fantastic idea

also ProjectMix I/O comes to mind. Compatibile with Logic + Ableton but also with Pro Tools in case you want to switch to it one day.
