Adam A7 special edition
« on: July 18, 2011, 10:56:54 am »
Considering to buy these:

http://www.thomann.de/gr/adam_a7_special_edition_white.htm?sid=312782424124f7ec6739d84aa91c422f

Any experience with those monitors, any feedback?

Adam doesn't produce A7 anymore but thomann's price i think it's ok.

of course you can recommend any other monitor but i can not go higher than 500 euros ( = 700 $ )

I picked up a pair of a5's earlier this year and never looked back.
I know they lack a little of the low end definition (below 60/70hz) but for $500US in total including shipping to Australia... hard to beat.

i bought a pair of yamaha hs 80s in that price range and i have to say i'm pretty pleased. i had to completely move my stuff around in the spare room "studio" though, they're big and do not like being in corners. other than, i'm really happy with them. they have great presence and detail.

i don't think they have any issues with the low end either.

A7s are the best monitors under $1000 in my opinion. i used them for years... still have them in the closet.. hesitant to sell them.

the most important factor for me when looking at monitors is translation to other systems.. and that's what the A7s excel at... mixes done on A7s will translate very well to other playback systems and you will feel confident that what you mix on them will sound pretty good everywhere else.

the same definitely cannot be said for many monitors in that price range.

The guy at the store had more or less the same opinion...and the A7s sound amazing btw.

So, now i have to hurry up to order them from thomann 'cause everywhere else i checked (locally i mean) are more expensive.

Thanks for all your replies!
