ABOUT Machinist
Machinist is the solo project of Dutch artist Zeno van den Broek, who also worked as architect with a specialization in the field of urban living in a networking society. In his music there is a clear focus on urban environment and the immersive experience of space. Since 2005 he has releases several CD-R albums and performed at several Dutch festivals and venues. Leading in 2009, together with Mendel Kaelen, to winning the Dutch X-Vektor, a contest for finding underground talent.

I won't go into prosaic and intricate details as much (leaving that for the experts) but I've been listening to this one twice as of yet and I really appreciate it. I like how it goes from ambiences and found sound to diffused and expansive musicality, it takes its time, comes in successions and builds up nicely in swells and descents. Well, wadda ya know, I have words too!

But in short, it's growing on me.

Great looking cover!  Like the art work.  Unusual design, looks like the CD could fall out any second.  Is it fastened in the centre? can't quite see in the picture.

No fastening, but if you're a bit of a DIYer you could probably do something with an hex bolt and a lock nut.

That's not a bad idea for a limited edition! so limited, you can't get the CD out of the case (comes with free download).

It is quite stable, though not as stable as it should be.
Funny thing is that in the actual design the cd side was on the right panel in the middle (at the usual spot) but the manufacturer made a small mistake. Though, because of this it is actually a really special cd ;-)


And well, I have quite some cd's in my collection where you actually had to "destroy" the packaging to get to the cd (just think about all the releases on Entr'acte, all sealed, hahaha)
