One of my all time favs...
was lucky enough to see them on the Disintegration, Wish & Wild Mood Swing tours. This show would be stellar!

This year's Vivid Live festival takes place from May 27 to June 6 at Sydney, Australia's famed Sydney Opera House. The fest is curated by Stephen Pavlovic, head of the Modular label, and he's snagged a fairly big get to headline the whole shebang: goth-rock greats the Cure, who will perform their first three albums in their entirety for the first-- and, they say, only-- time.

The Cure's "Reflections" event will take place May 31 and June 1, and it'll feature the band playing their 1979 debut, Three Imaginary Boys, 1980's Seventeen Seconds, and 1981's Faith. The lineup will be made up of both present and past members of the Cure, and the whole thing will be recorded for a DVD. Pretty cool.

The rest of Vivid Live's lineup is pretty stacked, too, featuring a rare DJ set from the Avalanches, Spiritualized performing Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, Cut Copy, Bat for Lashes, OFWGKTA, Tame Impala, Architecture in Helsinki, 2ManyDJ's, Dom, Azari & III, WU LYF, and more. Get more info here, and listen to Faith's opening track, "The Holy Hour", below.

Robert Smith is not even recognizable.
7 years ago, I won a ticket for a private Cure show in Paris.
The show was broadcasted live.
When I got there, a lot of Cure fans who didn't won were trying to get in, preventing the lucky winners to do so.
When I finally got in, the band (without Smith) was already playing because the live broadcast had started, but they were playing the Plainsong intro over and over. I was one of the first to sat down. Many Robert Smith clones in the room. One is sitted next to me in the stairs of the amphitheater. When all the audience was finally there, this clone stood up, went down to the stage, grabbed a guitar and started to sing. Oh wait, that was Robert Smith ? Couldn't even tell the difference between him and his clones ahahaha... But the show was great :

Plainsong
High
A Night Like This
The End of the World
Charlotte Sometimes
Lovesong
Taking Off
Primary
Jupiter Crash
Us or Them
Closedown
Before Three
From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea
A Strange Day
alt.end
Disintegration
----
If Only Tonight We Could Sleep
The Kiss

hahaha! I'm with you there..

But here's a dangerously endearing cover of one of their songs, plus it includes, wait for it..... looping!  ;D
