Korg = Analog?!?

Looks like one of the big three is finally back in the analog game! MS-20 VCO + filter... + a drum machine...

saw this through Chris Carter on twitter this morning - there's a lot of talk on the Korg forums:

seems interesting, tho again lacking in MIDI (like the Monotron). launch/news on Friday 6th, allegedly

Midi shouldn't be an issue if it works like old school sync ( like the old arpeggiators ) you could send it a loud audio signal ( like a click track ) and it'll happily sync along... But I'm guessing here...

regardless - if the price range on this is anywhere within $50 of the Monotron, this is a bargain.

yeah, that's what I'm hoping for - very long thread at gearslutz has the price between $100-1000... I'm sure it'll become clear imminently, but another 'serious toy' a la Monotron would be lovely

 :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(
i don't need 16 smileys. 8 would be sufficient. but i need a sequencer with 16 steps (at least), not 8.

for $200 it would probably be pretty fun.... but i'm holding out for the next batch of OP-1s...

still, nice to see Korg going into "new" (old?) territory.. while roland continues to spew garbage...

+1

The big synth companies haven't done much to get my attention in the last 10 years, but this angle from Korg is refreshing, and potentially wallet-thinning.
