the original monotron even had helpful notes marked on the pcb to aid bending and hacking. i bet this will have the same. and seeing as it's analog, the first thing to do would be spilt up all the different drums into individual outs and whatnot...

The big synth companies haven't done much to get my attention in the last 10 years, but this angle from Korg is refreshing, and potentially wallet-thinning.

+ the roland marketing makes me angry. they take names of classic machines, and design schemes (badly copied though) and brand something boring with this. and they really think that THIS is good marketing? that makes me angry! nobody can be that stupid.

korg goes a different way: they take something old, the ms20, and put it's pieces together to something new, that's at least innovative (even when it's not really productive). they obviously see what's more important than productivity: the fun!

and the mono tribe HAS 16 steps.
pressing the one of the buttons is can be used as a "shift button" that enables to set another 8 steps. (some guy at another forum found it out on the messe)
