Environmental Sounds Blog (Seaworthy & Matt Rosner)
« on: April 02, 2011, 08:18:12 pm »
I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread to remind you all of updates to the Environmental Sounds blog Matt Rosner and I set up in conjunction with our Two Lakes release. http://www.12k.com/index.php/site/releases/two_lakes

Our collaboration looks set to continue so we'll be trying to update the blog regularly with new pieces and perhaps some news items on field recording/sound research bits and pieces.

A new post up on the Environmental Sounds blog. Recordings of estuary overflow across a beach on the north coast of NSW, Australia. Really interesting sounds and colours (in photos) of this tannin stained water flowing out across the white sand. Please drop by for a look and listen.

A new post up at Environmental Sounds. Some early morning recordings from a woodland behind a coastal dune system on the far north coast of NSW.

I'm going to try and get some recordings up a bit more frequently over the next month or so. As weather warms up here on the east coasl of Australia, animal life seems to be slowly waking up from their winter of inactivity.

A new post up on the Environmental Sounds blog.

"Singing Floodlights" A recording made using contact mics on some large floodlight towers at a local sports filed during an extremely windy day. There are some interesting sounds going on inside these structures and I'm looking forward to exploring them some more. Please drop by and have a listen.

A new post up on the Environmental Sounds blog.

"Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens" was a recording I made last week when I dropped into the Botanic Gardens in the Blue Mountains, approx 90min drive from Sydney. Theses recordings were made in a section of rainforest called "The Jungle" and even though there was some traffic noise invading the environment, I think the diversity of native birds more than makes up for it.

A new post up on the Environmental Sounds blog. I was hoping to post more frequently in 2012 but the new year hasn't got off to a good start. I'll be doing my best to keep things moving from here on in!
