Thanks Jimmy! The space has about a 6-second reverb and it's different in every part of the building. Sound bounces off the sculptures, the glass walls and fades in all sorts of weird fun ways. Steve and I were each sending stereo outputs direct and then there were about 14 microphones all throughout the building picking up our sound played back into the space. Bob Bielecki, our brilliant sound engineer was outside, with the audience, mixing between those channels. So, the audience was hearing all sorts of changes in the spatialization as Bob made various decisions. For the stereo mix (on Ubu) I had 18 individual channels to play with - emphasizing the ambient mics in particular when Steve is singing or hitting a bell as he's wandering through the building and only picked up by the ambient mics. ...
