I own a Zoom H2 and i would like to add a good field recording microphone to it to get some clean recordings on the zoom. Anyone could help? Thank you!

What is your budget? i got couple of options for you i think.

with the H2's in-built amp you won't get really clean recordings, no matter how good mic you'll purchase. it's a budget recorder so don't expect miracles. you would need to buy an external mic amp anyway. like such - http://www.sounddevices.com/products/mp1master.htm

here a nice stereo mic option. very decent sound quality for the price. bulky though.

wow that mic preamp looks tasty. guess that will lower the noisefloor on any cheap interface/preamp/recorder.
like my yamaha pocketrak 2g first generation.
maybe also on my soundcard: Presonus Firebox.

I think a lot of people don't think that it is so easy to get cleaner fieldrecordings.

this looks promising at a mid-price level:

Similar to the Rode NT-4 in looks and price

Sorry for the very late answer. Thanks for the advices.
Well my budget is about 1500 dollar including both the mic and a recorder (since the H2 wouldn't get me those clean recordings)

In that case, my advice would be to get the
Sony PCM-D50
and the DPA-based high-end binaurals from Core Sound. Or just a matched pair of DPA 4061 mics.
That would be just about exactly $1500 and could be really nice and clean. Be sure to get the little Rycote covers for the DPAs too

Thank you very much Stephen.
This recommandation is very useful to me.

By the way - I love your album with Molly Berg ;)
so this advice is from the right person.
Thanks

How do you guys think about combining the Sony recorder recommended by Stephen with the Rode NT4? both look brilliant to me. Thanks ;)

that might be a very good choice.  the Rode has 1/8" stereo minijack, so you won't need to buy the $500 XLR adapter box thang for the Sony D50 (which I think is pretty excellent on it's own).
