Kooky - a Czech puppet film about a lost teddy bear. Much better than that description sounds - lots of charm, detail, inventiveness and visual treats.

Island - a film by Efterklang and Vincent Moon. Saw it at one of their gigs, but just got the DVD, a lovely package.

Breaking Bad - season 1 .. indeed, great TV series!

and also

Trier's Melancholia which didn't impressed me much.. I mean in every film, Trier used to "wow me in the end" (a phrase from Adaptation which i really like :P). For example in Dancer in the Dark i couldn't stop the tears but in this one...i don't know what happened.

season 4 of breaking bad just ended this week with an unbelievably good finale.  now the agony of waiting over a year till the next season starts!
Can't get myself to watch it. Starts so dark and depressing. I really enjoyed the previous seasons and love me some drama so probably go watch the rest as well...but seriously starts DARK!!!

Quote
as for melancholia, i thought the first hlaf was really dull, but parts of the second half sat well with me.  nowhere near as visually stunning as antichrist, but some of the concepts in the 2nd half stayed with me for days afterwards.
I thought this was a really good film with a really good role for Kirsten Dunst (thought she was amazing) and Jack B...uhm Kiefer Sutherland was also really good. Good to see him in a non-violent role.

I myself am happy with the new season of The Walking Dead. Good zombie slasher/psychologic drama series.

Last film I saw was the cleaned-up version of Eraserhead in one of the arthouse cinemas here in Amsterdam.

David Lynch. Because there was some extra material that could be added and to restore the film for future generations (and a proper DVD and Blu Ray release).

Oh, no! I mean this guy here :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Walker_(singer)
Scott Walker of the Walker Brothers, although his solo career is more important.

watched the first two episodes and  didn't like it much, too heavy-handed.  doubt i'll be following it.  my favourite shows on at the moment are boardwalk empire and homeland.

watched rise of the planet of the apes last night and loved it way more than i expected.  the title makes sense now.

George Harrison: Living in the material world

excellent documentary about George Harrison, my favorite of the Beatles. But What i really want to see is a documentary about George Martin, the producer, arranger and partly engineer of the Beatles. He did some amazing stuff back then, truly a pioneer.

I think they made a book about the recording sessions and techniques, etc. of the Beatles, there's bound to be a lot of information coming from George Martin in there, probably some about him too.

That would be really interesting because in every documentary i watched George Martin had a minor role and i am pretty sure that he can share some awesome information about the recording technics and the overall process from that era.

Next i am gonna watch Alan Parsons "Art & Science of Sound" ( http://artandscienceofsound.com/ ). The DVDs are a little expensive but i guess you have to pay something when you want to learn from the best.
