Ohh yeah, Game of Thrones is amazing. Now a year waiting for it to continue...ai ai ai...

yeah game of thrones was ace, can't wait till the next season.  but at least breaking bad is starting up again real soon.

watched a couple of nick broomfiled documentaries recently, "kurt and courtney" and "biggie and toupac".  pretty fun to watch, even if it's pretty gonzo journalism style at times.

Lots of free time lately (=bored to death, waiting for vacations) so this is the outcome of it :

Submarine .. a great little movie, coming of age drama/comedy http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1440292/

and some classics like :

Barry Lyndon

2001: a space odyssey .. this was my 4th viewing and memories came back to me. I remembered when i first saw this movie, when i was 15teen years old. i didn't understand anything but god, this soundtrack along with the visual themes blew me away!!!

yeah I've been feeling like it's time to watch 2001 again.

I just blew through the first season of Breaking Bad.  definitely a great show.  I did the same with Mad Men a year or two ago....really fun, dynamic television.

Being There .. great film starring Peter Sellers. For me his best role.

Paths of Glory .. maybe the greatest war film that i have ever seen.

Breaking Bad - season 1 .. indeed, great TV series!

and also

Trier's Melancholia which didn't impressed me much.. I mean in every film, Trier used to "wow me in the end" (a phrase from Adaptation which i really like :P). For example in Dancer in the Dark i couldn't stop the tears but in this one...i don't know what happened.

season 4 of breaking bad just ended this week with an unbelievably good finale.  now the agony of waiting over a year till the next season starts!

as for melancholia, i thought the first hlaf was really dull, but parts of the second half sat well with me.  nowhere near as visually stunning as antichrist, but some of the concepts in the 2nd half stayed with me for days afterwards.

Still in season 2 of Breaking Bad. Certainly riveting television.
Just finished season two of East Bound & Down. What a tragic comedy. Shakespeare if you will...
Also, watched Hesher. Thought the acting was a bit forced but it was funny more than anything.

parts of Hesher I thought were great - the performances for sure.  I thought the tone was off - too "indie seriocomedy" for me - it didn't play the comedy against the tragedy well enough for me, but as you say, I thought it was the tragedy that felt forced.

midnight in paris

^woody-lite, but enjoyably so.  fun escapism, and i liked owen wilson standing in for woody allen.
