never let me go

how is this one? i'm looking forward to see it next week.

I know reactions were mixed, but I really enjoyed it. As a huge science fiction fan, I wish more of the genre was approached in this manner.

I hated that movie...i think that the whole concept was immature with many plotholes and it reminds me a lot of "the island", an older movie...

Two really great science fiction movies that i saw recently was "Primer" and "One point O" .

yeah, i couldn't get into lnever let me go either.  cool, distopian atmosphere at times, but there were just so many plot holes.  decent enough acting and the premise was ok, but still.....

totally agree with you on primer, probably in my top ten films ever.  just shows what you can do with a good idea, no massive budget rquired to make something great.  plus you'll come back to it again and again as it makes more sense with repeated viewings.

agreed on "Primer", that's a film I rewatch periodically to attempt to wrap my brain around.

getting away from sci-fi for a moment, I rewatched "clean, shaven" recently and remembered how layered and interesting the sound design was. Lodge Kerrigan made another somewhat similar film "keane" which was also pretty good, but not quite the same in terms of soundtrack design. kind of up there with "eraserhead" as far as soundtrack collage goes.

Objectified by Gary Hustwit. This is his second film, after Helvetica, which looks at our relationship to manufactured objects via the people who design them.

Helvetica was a good one.

Wife and I recently started Madmen...not sure what to think yet...
Also we watched a little of East Bound & Down. Which is hilarious. Yet, bittersweet at times.

yeah, helvetica is good.

recently watched morvern callar.  great film, and i'm really interested to see the director's new film.  it seems to be making waves at cannes at the moment.

I've seen 22 mei in cinema last week. Expected a lot from it, but I can't really recommend going if it gets near you...though, a lot of critics seem to disagree with me.

Adam Curtis is the man.....the power of nightmares and the trap are excellent!!!

Recently i completed an Alfred Hitchcock tribute and i can easily say that Rear Window is his best film.
