What about "Third Rock from the Sun"? it is the third time I see the series along the years and I find it now even more exhilarating!

Very entertaining and interesting flick. The irony in this movie is hilarious.

Watched Enter The Void during the mid west snow-in. Certainly lives up to its title.
Also, I recently watch Inception and WOW!

Typical Chris Nolan movie, it has this "WOW" factor at the end. Really good movie but highly overrated

I recently watch Black Swan which was mediocre and sometimes even boring and for the third time Werner Herzog's Land of Silence and Darkness, one of the best documentaries ever made!

I strongly recommend every film made by Werner Herzog.

Perhaps Inception is overrated. A new Matrix for a new generation? Mostly, I was fascinated by the philosophy, soundtrack was nice and of course the eye candy. Well thought out - not a Hollywood trademark these days.

Agreed on Herzog.

enter the void blew my mind, easily my fave film from 2010.  insanely good soundtrack, too.  it's the kind of film you'll either love or hate, no in between.

I guess I'm the one who didn't like the movie. Great pics, editing and sound. But the story could have been told in a minute and 40sec. so story-wise a yawn factory for me. one of the first dialogs was very promising, the one in the kitchen when they are leaving the apartment. very casual and natural. felt as if they were not actors and there was no camera present. hoped it'll continue into this direction. but felt nothing crucial happened.

ha, i haven't met too many people sharing my enthusiasm for enter the void!  i've only seen it once, kinda scared of watching it again in case i change my mind!

speaking of divisive films with great soundtracks, i watched "the limits of control" last night.  very zen-like film.  the doom metal/stoner rock soundtrack suited its pace well.

The movie's title says it all for me.  It was anti climatic and it I believe it was meant to be. The movie seemed like it was going to end for about an hour or so and that really got on my nerves. Easily could have shaved 30 minutes from it. I don't love or hate it, just feel indifferent. It's no Irreversible, that's for sure.

i totally understand.  usually i hate films where it's style over content, but i really felt with enter the void the style WAS the content.  the acting was pretty bad (especially compared to irreversible), and there wasn't really any real traditional narrative.  it just felt like a 3 hour drift into a weird head space, accompanied by brilliant sounds and trippy lights.  more like video art as opposed to your regular movie experience.

That about sums it up.

The wife and I recently started Breaking Bad. The show about the meth cooking science teacher. Interesting concept but nothing ground breaking.

On Wednesday, I went to see Efterklang play at the Queen's Social Club, Sheffield (UK). Instead of a support band, there was a screening of the film An Island, directed by Vincent Moon. It's a great little piece about the band, starting with lots of field recording around a barn and in the forest, including performances of their music with local residents and schoolkids. Lovely, heartwarming stuff. There is also the opportunity to host your own private-public screening of the film.
