recommend audio interface - what's your favorite?
« on: January 04, 2011, 03:37:30 am »
Since I started using computers in the process of musicmaking, I've been using a digidesign mbox (the original model).
It feels like it's about time for an upgrade and I'm curious what other peeps are using.

At the moment I don't really need more than 2 in/outs.
I need to record acoustic instruments and good quality recordings (soundwise, rest is up to me I guess)are needed.
ProTools compability would be nice, but obviously limits the options.
As I'm really tired of paying for every other upgrade of the software, I might switch to another application for mixing.

Any thought or suggestions would be much appreciated!

yeah if you don't need more than 2 in/out than the apogee seems to be the standard.

I like my M-Audio Fast Track Pro as a low budget option, it works great on my Mac and I probably won't bother upgrading it for a while yet.

Having said that, if I hadn't blown my money on other music gear at the time then I would also have gotten an Apogee duet!

Yes, it works fine with pro tools as you can see here  :  http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/duet.php

As i told you before i vote for the babyface for some money more you get more feutures.

If you live in Europe check out www.thomann.de for low prices.

Fast Track pro was my first interface, really good choise for low budget interface indeed but i think that m-audio will soon

upgrade all the usb models.
