I am behind with everything anyway. e.g. working on some pillowdiver stuff.
but seriously. so much trouble with getting this stupid thing. this better be good, eg finishes a record for me while I am at the dayjob.

wow, great idea! Maybe jimmy can modify the el capistan accordingly...?

strymon timeline ... thought i would post for those who are still on the fence about an el capistan (which are probably only a few regular forum members here it seems)

not sure on a release yet... but sounds like it is a multi-delay unit/looper (similar to dl4/m9)

interesting highlights:

dbucket (brigadier)
dtape (el capistan)
granular synthesis
looper
stereo in/out or mono in/out + feedback loop

sounds like the pricing is going to be around $499 - i'll be interested to see what is all in the unit once strymon makes some official announcements...

i'm sure there will be some el capistan buyers that might be a little upset about the upcoming timeline containing the dtape algorithm... i for one am very happy i picked one up - there is still something to be said about the simplicity of a dedicated/stand-alone unit.

well I'm pretty sure that the Timeline will be nothing less that awesome, which means it has to be more than a looper.  sadly, if that is the case, I need to reallocate $500.

yeah, curious how it does the El Capistan thing... the ElCap has an amazing regenerating degredation and many modes.. so we'll see if the timeline contains all the various modes of the ElCap

either way, it's one sexy looking box

the video above, though, doesn't seem to talk much about the looper... at all.

ralph.. you DO realize the timeline isn't a *plug in*, right? i mean, you can actually touch it, turn a knob..

i know this is probably a hard concept for you to grasp.. but, c'mon.. try now with your fingers..

put your thumb and forefinger together... ok, now move them back and forth like a grabbing motion..

right...

now reach for something in your room.. something real...

ok...

 ;)

I have a real question for a change.

I am not sure if I do something wrong but I can't really hear the great stereo image some people were raving about...

That is in sound on sound mode without reverb. Is the stereo image dependent on the reverb? I cannot find any documentation about that.

Sounds great in mono, too but I wonder if I got a lemon. :/
