The Field - Today & Tomorrow
During my 30 minute commute up Woodward Ave to work this morning.

I should listen to this once again, it's been a long time... I love his two first albums but the latest one was a big disappointment. It lacks the textures and the grain of the previous releases and it kinda sounds like a guy with cold synths trying to cover The Field. I'm being hard, but I love him.

Now playing : Brian Blade Fellowship - Season of Changes
One of my favorite 2000s jazz record...

destroyer-kaputt

....cheesy and lovely at the same time! I think I´ll re-listen to my old records from Deacon blue and Prefab Sprout again! :)

andrew pekler - sentimental favourites

...funny in a good way (I miss some humour on electronic music!)

Actual title is 'Yesterday & Today'. I fudged it.
Just started to get into the Field. Was a big Kompakt fan back when they were relevant. Just missing the hypnotic dance floor groove of late.

Hi Darren - Where did you get the Celer & Machinefabriek 7" from? I really want to secure a physical copy of that one before it sells out but couldn't find any information on it beyond what is stated on the Machinefabriek website saying that it's due out next month.

yeah, it hasn't actually been released yet.  celer played a show here last night and he was selling copies at the merch stand.

I see. No need to worry just yet then. Thanks for letting me know and hope it was an enjoyable performance.

yep, you should be able to get a copy no probs.  celer played a really nice set, as did illuha who played with asuna.  part of a small japan tour they are doing together.

That's good to know. It sounds like it must have been a quality night.

Marcus Fischer - Collected Dust

arrived yesterday and i am really enjoying it! Some songs have this monocoastal vide but this is a good thing ! :)

thanks! so happy to hear that so many people pre-ordered it.

yeah, all of that stuff pre-dates monocoastal from about a year up to nearly two.  monocoastal was all about living with those sounds and really getting inside of what they were. each track on collected dust was much more spontaneous... never spending more than a night on their creation.  when i revisited those tracks for the collection, i didn't add any new material. i just refined them a bit and just spent more time with them.
i am pretty happy with the results.
