lovely sound from Ellen Fullman in concert yesterday, most especially the duo w Sean Meehan.  picked up these gems from the merch table.

Living a little away from home at the moment, so gathered up a couple of stacks of CDs from the shelves to take, and have been listening through them -

First some Ultimae CDs - Hol Baumann, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Circular, I Awake, Asura - intriguing to listen to them sequentially and feel more of the differences.

Now listening through some Line CDs - Heribert Friedl, Thomas Phillips, Doublends Vert, Steve Roden, Taylor Deupree + Christopher Willets - then on to some others - Skoltz_Kolgen, Vend, etc.  Again, intriguing to listen sequentially and get a sense of unity, and disparity.

& the samples that have been thrown my way over the wk-end for upcoming project.

Listened to some samples of Ohayo and it sounded really nice- need to get that one to go with my Tape collection...

haven't listened to that one specifically
but they're both hit or miss artists for me

and don't get me wrong, when it's hit
it's ****** HIT!

is it a case of expecting more from some and then feeling 'let down' when it doesn't hit you right?
who knows...

any word on the new Mountains album?

I had to review it for a Dutch website and I really enjoyed listening to it.
They really seem to use the whole kosmische revival in a way it really benefits to their own sound instead of just ripping of cluster and the likes (as all those other bands are doing and which I clearly can't stand (and not only because of their lack of originality))
