Listening:
Sunn O))) 'Monoliths & Dimensions'
Still not sure what to think of that 'evil voice'... I can't really take it serious (should I?)..
Musical, this is an amazing record...

attila's vocals on various sunn records are pretty tongue-in-cheek, but then sunn generally are kinda theatrical (the robes, dry ice etc).  sure, on the black one album they recorded vocalist malefic (who's apparently claustrophobic) screaming in terror after they locked him in a coffin and put it in the back of a hearse!  crazy.

although musically, the final track on monoliths & dimensions, "alice", is simply outstanding.  no need for theatrics there.

I saw this on Boomkat as well yesterday while browsing some new hip-hopish stuff. Sounded interesting. Were you able to find a hard copy or did you get the mp3 version?

Listening to leakage of Pantha Du Prince's Black Noise, which is quite good. Definitely picking this one up Feb. 8.

Yea, I just bought the mp3 from Boomkat...would love this on vinyl though. The format would really suit it.

The rest of the day...

Andrea Belfi & Machinefabriek - Pulses & Places (Kormplastics, 2009)
David Sylvian - When Loud Weather Buffeted Naoshima (Samadhisound, 2007)
Dion Workman & Rohan Thomas - K (Sigma Editions, 2000)
At The Close Of Every Day - Zalig Zijn De Armen Van Geest (Milk & Honey Records, 2002)
Roy Montgomery & Grouper - Split (Self-Released, 2010)
The XX - XX (Young Turks, 2009)
Inca Ore - Silver Sea Surfer School (Not Not Fun, 2009)

Still a small pile left over of things I haven't heard yet, but managed to listen to 10 albums I hadn't listened to yet.
What a great day with so much lovely music.
