i am so lagging behind...that Room40 mix still hasn't came near my cd-player yet....

Instead I am going through my extensive collection of Five Elements Music related material (I did a trade with him).
Sister Loolomie - Signals (Zhelezobeton, 2009)
So far the least interesting one, most are nice droning ambient sounds but this is more processing like stuff (think 12K stuff) but it doesn't grab me. Like those droning ambient sounds did.

Also finally got to listen to the bonus cd for the Rene Hell vinyl on Type Records. While I was gladly surprised by the LP the bonus CD doesn't really sound that good to me. It's more synthesizer greatest stuff to me...but I probably just don't get it, like I don't get Emeralds and Oneotrix Point Never.

Suishou No Fune - Prayer For Chibi (Holy Mountain, 2008)
My favorite release by them. Great combination of noisy guitars, hidden melodies and spacey vocals.

Eva-Maria Houben works for piano (edition wandelweiser)

really great piano solo compositions (performed by Houben)

and this great lil blurb

Quote
the sound of the piano decays.

it cannot be sustained. I let it loose time and again.

it appears by disappearing; starting to disappear just after the attack.

in disappearing it begins to live, to change.

the piano: an instrument, that allows me to hear how many ways sound can disappear.

there seems to be no end to disappearance.

I can hear, how listening becomes the awareness of fading sound.

Can't stop listening to Kevin Drumm's "Organ" from the Necro Acoustic box, such a great drone piece... just a shame it's not spanning across two discs ;D

definitely! I was expecting greatness here, but it exceeded my expectations - without a doubt my best musical investment so far this year

i'm not so convinced by it. some great moments, but as a complete box set it's to much sameness in my opinion...

Well, if the material included is all good, the similarity doesn't has to be perceived as a disadvantage. I guess it all comes down to how much one enjoys KD's musical attitude.

Murralin Lane Our House Is on The Wall. Before you kill me for spreading piracy - whole album is streamable through few sites (bands MySpace, 12k site, other shops) Nice album. Short but intense. And beautiful cover.

Been a while since I played this. Still really good.
