some beautiful songs:

The Nathional - High Violet
Didn't like it at first. Love it now.
Yep, even on the second listen, it's definitely growing...

Conversation 16 might be my favorite track.
I didn't hear the complete album but when listening to some pieces it really didn't grab me at all.
Don't see the fuzz about it. Just another indiepop/rock band imo.
Might have to give it another chance (so much people are raving about the album).

Shinkei + Mise_En_Scene - leftover_1 (Dragon's Eye Recordings, 2010)
Burning Star Core - Papercuts Theater (No Quarter, 2010)

Isn't this supposed to be a cd + dvd release as stated on r-n site ?
On Boomkat they mention CD only... I don't get it...

it's actually a cd/cd-rom release. the visual part will not be viewable with a regular dvd/tv setup as the resolution and quality of the dvd compression isn't good enough for the visuals. therefore the visuals will be on a seperate disc which will work as a cd-rom disc (playable through a computer system).

at least that's how frank explained it to me when he performed here a few weeks ago...

Yup it's a CD + CD-ROM.

Great sounds. just had a glimpse at the ROMs. the video were good, but they didn't seem to do much to me on my 15" laptop screen. maybe i need to take more time and watch them in a pitch black room

Autechre - Oversteps
I like this release - it's refreshing.

I appreciate that Mr Bretschneider made this decision re: DVD compression quality.  looking forward to this...

I played that yesterday, but thought it was a bit too long. When you are halfway the album it's quite over for me.
Besides that it isn't really my kind of style. I prefer the old krautrock stuff, all these new ones are imho too much presets and highly overrated.

Yellow Swans - Being There (Type Records, 2010)
Wolf Eyes - Burned Mind (Subpop, 2004)
(they were amazing yesterday evening, really nice show with loads of variation)

Ola K - Untitled (Garmonbozia Productions, 2004)
One of the forgotten gems from the now finished label Garmonbozia Productions ran by Axel Wilner (The Field, Cordouan, Lars Blek ao). Really great ambient/drones project. Minimal stuff with analogue synths and computers.
I know you can't get the CD-R anymore, but recommended to dig this up in mp3 or something.

it was great (was the first time I saw them, previous time they weren't allowed in at the Netherlands due to visas and other rightwing bullshit).
They were amazing and almost everyone was dancing and everyone was having fun (except the four people next to me who were probably usual visitors of the Bimhuis (the venue) which is a chic jazz club).
During last song everyone was dancing on stage between the musicians. Really a huge party :-)

Really recommended to go see if they are near.
