actually yes - I hadn't thought of that, but the treatments really do achieve a similar effect, if even more sublime.  there is a really fine subtlety to CRWTH - almost sneaky with it's beauty in blurred, muted strokes.  haven't compared to the original yet.  really enjoying my entire LLC collection these days (which has more than doubled in 2010 - crazy)

sublime is the word, billy.  it's ambient in a really dreamy, super-lush sense.  i don't know a thing about LLC so i hadn't any expectations, but this new cd is just pure bliss.  could you give any pointers to the LLC back catalogue?  i downloaded the original chorus album from the passcode that came with the line cd and it's interesting too, definitely less dreamy but cool nonetheless.

the first two LLC albums, bloweyelashwish & xuvetyn were eye-opening experiences for me in my youth, and total gateway drugs, though my four-track skills and pedal collection never matched Scott's.  I'm 99% sure both are still available, 110% essential.  my feeling is that if these were on a less gothy label, and released as new discs right now, they would blow up the blogs.

I'm a little more so-so on Glissceule & Voirshn, which introduce computer-based processing & assembly.  still lovely stuff.

My first exposure to LLC was just recently (thanks 12K forum!). Purchased 'Girl Echo Suns Veil'/'Avianium', not bad...curious about other releases though. I beleive if I had dicovered this back in the 90's, I'd be giddy as the rest.

Perception....the label is a turn off. Amazing how easy it is to dimiss a record simply because it is released by an imprint that doesn't appeal to your musical sesnses, depsite the quality of the release.

Loved goth (mostly it was the ladies. goth was different then.) back in the late 80's / early 90's but sometime shortly thereafter it started become a parody of itself.

Joe Henry - Fuse

Beach Boys - Pet sounds
&
Current Discography 1992-1994 (Council Records)
While pakcing up the apt. I'm moving...with Detroit's housing prices so low, I can afford to buy a home.

Alva Noto - For 2

Really good. Perhaps not as cohesive an album as the likes of Xerrox, but some great stuff in there, tied together with a nice theme.

some classics this past eastern, after buying a cheap pile of vinyls, including some favs:

talk talk - spirit of eden
the chameleons - what does anything mean? basically  + script on the bridge
cocteau twins - milk and kisses
this mortal coil - it'll end in tears

...and yes, the LLC album is fantastic!! remainded to me to some classic stuff from 4AD mixed with disco inferno or seefeel

best,
pug
