Video of the Nashville Flood, May 2.
« on: May 07, 2010, 11:41:08 am »
This video was sent to me by a friend and shows the flooding just a few blocks from my apartment. I got very lucky. Apologies if you've seen it already. I think it's very well shot, and particularly liked the lens selections and color.

I returned to this after being in Orange Beach, AL and watching the preparation of the beaches for the impending oil landfall. It's strange to think that the storm system responsible for the flood is keeping the oil from reaching my birthplace.

It's been a disturbing few days.

Stunning - the framing, the depth of field, the editing: how to turn something of ravaging destruction into something of sublime beauty.

wow... that's really affecting.  seeing this makes me feel as though it's easier to be numb to sensationalized imagery but something like this showing the calm aftermath and all the little things seems much more difficult to ignore.
