NEW 12K SITE

hi everyone

the new 12k site should be online in the morning (new york time)... pretty exciting! if i may ask you all to keep your eyes out for bugs, problems, typos, etc.... and if you come across them, report them in this thread here...

you should find the site to be much more user friendly. everything is databased and cross-referenced. once it's been live for a bit and any remaining kinks ironed out, there are some exciting enhancements that we'll be rolling out.

i hope the launch goes smoothly and i appreciate your feedback.

the new releases will also be in the shop at the time of launch.

very, very nice... i like the quite play- and colourful approach.
klicked through the site a bit and here are some personal opinions:

- microsuoni as mailorder doesn't exist anymore (distribution section)
- when i did an artist search on the release pages it didn't seem to work (a release search works)
- on the release page i think it's not very clear what is a 12k release and what is a 12k related release
(don't know if this differentiation is important for you)
- maybe it would be nice to also have the catalog numbers noted small next to the overview of the releases
- my name is not written correctly when used with capital letters (sorry for the extra german language complication

- "12k related" release: i know what you mean, but these releases are now under the 12k umbrella... (i assume you're talking about the digital re-releases, like the mille plateaux stuff?)... as well, there wont' be that many of them.. so, yeah, fine for now.

i like the new layout.
i was a little puzzled at first, that the website is now not divided into line/12k at the start page, but it worked well for me. Is the blog gone for good?

some people thought the splash page was annoying, others didn't. for cleanliness sake i've left it out for now..

yes, the blog will take place on the 12k site now in the NEWS section. it will be updated the same way with the same sorts of info.

the old 12k blog will remain alive for archive sake though.

as it turns out, this is already part of the coding, but not totally integrated yet... so it's coming soon.

basically, clicking the MP3 player (somewhere, not sure where) will link to that album..

also when checking out tracks in the artists section (for instance on your artists page) it's nice to be able to hear so many tracks, but when listening to them you have no idea from what release this is and if i'd be interested in this track i wouldn't find it...

also, in case it wasn't discovered: you can click the album cover on an individual release page, which will bring up a larger version of the cover which you can drag to your desktop as a JPG for use in your iTunes or other MP3 software.
