LINE LABEL RE-LAUNCHED
« on: January 13, 2011, 11:45:36 am »
as some of you have heard already, the LINE label has been re-launched and is now a separate label, not a 12k sub-label, run by Richard Chartier.

this has been a long time in the making and it not only frees me up a bit of my valuable time but allows Richard to grow the label with a new sense of freedom.

because many people are accustomed to buying their 12k and LINE releases at the same time, i will still act as a mailorder stop for LINE and you can buy them as normal from the 12k shop (though richard raised the prices by $1). there is also a shop on the line website as well.

the new LINE website is:

http://www.lineimprint.com/

and i wish Richard the best in managing the baby all by himself! i'll still work closely with him at first to help him iron out the kinks and we'll work together on new musical projects.. hell, i'm hoping to one day have my own solo CD on LINE one of these years! :)

I would like to thank the Line label for offering the option of lossless downloads at a very good price (10 USD).

Is there any thought of doing the same for the 12k shop?  Although I appreciate the aesthetic of the 12k imprint CDs, I'm simply out of room to store more CDs.

I do see that Boomkat has FLAC downloads but they run about 14.50 USD.  Emusic has downloads too but they are not lossless.

Thanks for all the great music.

Z.

this is indeed in the works as we speak for the 12k shop...

it was supposed to be launched with the new releases but the programmer is delayed.. but, to give you an idea of what's in store for the new online shop:

- users will create accounts, locations stored, no more having to run a "USA" shop and an "international" shop.
- instant, free MP3 downloads with the purchase of CDs
- flac and MP3 files will be available for sale
- coupon code system will be in place so i can offer sales, bonuses, incentives, etc.
- paypal will still be the payment method as it's just too expensive to use a true credit card system still

should be cool.. i'm certainly looking forward to seeing it happen.. i've already encoded all the music as flac and 320kbps mp3

excellent! this is awesome news!
just wanted to mention that you're already running one of the fastest shops i've ever bought at; usually it took only one week from order to delivery to germany. but with instant mp3 access after purchase i might end in some impulsive-buying!
