As discussed on the old forum - which gave me plenty good tips on travelling to/in NYC - and our trip is gettin closer..
Any good shows around between the 20th or 27th of march? Or the best (online) places to look...? I'm really anxious to attend a lot of concerts.. - or if you're aware of not too miss exhibitions..
playing at Zebulon on the 22nd. promo on the way
Keith Rowe and Sebastian Lexer will be in town I think at the beginning of yr stay but I haven't seen particular schedule yet.
@ The Stone
3/25 Thursday (NY)
Edwin Torres (poem, cassettes) Sean G. Meehan (snare drum) Ernesto Gomez (harmonica)
Edwin Torres is a lingualisualist, rooted in the languages of sight and sound. Sean Meehan became musically active in the late 80's at the amica bunker series for improvised music. Ernesto Gomez is a Mexican-Cuban multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of the Bro Jug Blues.
if you haven't seen Sean Meehan this is worth going to just for that. can't vouch for the rest but hey, will be interesting at least!
There will probably be other things that pop up. I can't say anything for exhibitions but you probably can't go wrong w/the Whitney, MOMA, the Met, uh all the rest are pretty darn good.
Diapason would be of interest if you can fit it in yr sched:http://www.diapasongallery.org/
