Chris Watson - A Journey South

For anyone who hasn't heard it yet:

http://www.touchradio.org.uk/touch_radio_49.html

Chris Watson's adventures at the South Pole. Fascinating stuff so far.

Tommy used to work on the docks. Union's been on strike, he's down on his luck. It's tough. So tough.

makes me want to watch Herzgog's Encounters at the End of the World again, while listening to this one.

the blasts of silence are just astonishing. not to mention the sounds of the interfering ice-bergs. great listening. thanks.

The link to the short interview didn't work for me, but I found it here:

Thanks for reminding me about the Watson/Attenborough interview. Found it via Touch but forgot to watch it until now.
A friend recently gave me the DVD set of Attenborough's Life On Earth (BBC, 1979). It's an amazing story of evolution, very rich in information, with great electroacoustic music by Edward Williams.
