le synthe 5
« on: January 08, 2010, 11:54:45 pm »
i remember there being an interest in the berna and gleetchlab synths in the old forum.  i found a similar modular synth that is kinda on the same wavelength (and similar price).  based on the Synthi AKS.

i was never really satisfied with this aks emulation. the reaktor version of this and espeically this xils lab xils 3 are sounding a lot more interesting to my ears.
but nevertheless, this is a great project and i can only imagine how much work this was

I second that point, NQ. I got the XILS3 through the no-brainer deal and aside from a few glitches (no tooltips) and preset limitations, it sounds great.
There's another VSTi version of the EMS SynthiA available free here:
http://ninecows.dk/cynthia/
It has a feature not present in the XILS3 or the original SynthiA - pins on the matrix that invert the signal

yeah I did the no-brainer XILS3 and while I have really used it in practice yet, I really like the sound and I can get the interface to do what I want.

Actually the full version of xils 3 (not the no brainer one) has this. Not only invert the signal but also add/subtract  half/quarter of the voltage. i think there's a new upgrade deal now available to the full version.

Cool! Looks like I'll have to save up for the upgrade
