SELF PROMOTION / Greg Haines - Until the Point of Hushed Support
« on: March 03, 2010, 06:22:04 pm »
Until the Point of Hushed Support is the second full-length offering from Greg Haines, born in England and now based in Berlin. Though it has been over three years since the release of his debut, Slumber Tides (Miasmah, 2006), the last few years have seen Haines traveling around the world and refining his craft, performing as a solo artist, improvising with other musicians, creating music for contemporary dance, and finally arriving at this new album, a beautifully contemplative forty-eight minute piece for string quintet, church organ, piano, percussion, and electronics...

Also a quick mention about supporting Fluid Radio...

This will be the one and only time I ever mention this as there is nothing worse than a 'dear john' letter every other week :)

We mentioned in our news letter yesterday that due to the current interest in the station we have had to increase listener slots.
This has meant that we are struggling to meet the current monthly costs of running the station.

Fluid Radio was (and still is) set up as a project with the simple aim of promoting the wonderful world of experimental music, artists and labels. We do not make any profit from the station and each month run at a financial loss.

I have added a 'support us' link to the site for those that feel they can help support what we do. If you feel you would like to help keep things running the donate link is below.

Many thanks,

Dan

Thanks Jimmy ;)

We always expect artists compiling mixes to check with the artists/labels involved in the mix before sending to us for broadcast.

The Mixcloud side of things is a new addition in many aspects to Fluid as we was looking for a media player widget that would allow mixes that have been streamed on the main broadcast to be uploaded aftrewards for those that may have missed out on the original broadcast due to time zone differences, etc.

Like Jimmy said Mixcloud are licensed so any artists that are involved in the mixes should (if registered with ppl) get a royalty payment I think!

We also pay a yearly liscense for the two main Fluid broadcasts which again means any music that we stream on both channels all gets logged with ppl every quarter.

As regards to making mixes available for download...

That all depends on the artists/labels involved in each mix. We will never make them available as a downlaod unless given the all clear from those involved.

Hope that helps,

Dan

Ok folks...

New web site is finally completed (well almost).
I hope it's a little easier to navigate around compared to the last one and a little more pleasing to the eye.
If you notice anything not quite right then all feedback is most welcome.

Many thanks,

Dan
