COMPUTER MUSIC / Surround plugins?
« on: August 06, 2010, 01:02:18 am »
Does anyone mix in surround (5.1)? If so, do you have any suggestions for surround-based plugins (Mac/Native)? Logic has a few things but not much. Waves has an old TDM set but there seems to be next to nothing that I've come across that's new and nothing that's really inventive. Any recommendations would be most welcome. Thanks. Stephen

August 13 - September 12, 2010: a project with John Kaldor Public Art Projects. Also, an outdoor piece for the Art Gallery of New South Wales opens on August 11 along with a performance with Lawrence English at 7:30pm on the 11th. There's an artist talk on 13 August 6-7pm at Surry Hills Library. Kaldor Facebook page has more details too. There's also a really nicely packaged CD/catalog with mastering by Taylor Deupree that has a track from one of the projects here and recordings from 2 other recent installations...

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, and hope no one minds my bringing it to the forum - Anthony Moore (of Slapp Happy and many other great things) is doing a very rare NY performance. He's looking for a reel to reel machine to use and asked if I could help put the word out. I realize it's a long-shot but if anyone has something, email me off-list (stephenvitiello@gmail.com) and I'll forward the note to Anthony. Thanks. Stephen     his note:

I am arriving with Martine in New York City April 2nd to play
a gig on the 7th at Le Poisson Rouge in Bleeker St. flying
back out on the 8th.

As the stuff to be presented is lifted from some late 60s
early 70s tape works of mine I am desperately trying to
locate a decent Revox A77 or some such for the show. I can't
for the life of me find one in NY and of course nobody has a
spare cent for supporting the concert with any kind of
budget. Do you happen to know where I might borrow one for a
coupla days?
