here's a recipe for a soup i make quite often every fall.
chop coarsely:
- one onion
- two cloves of garlic
- four rather big tomatoes - i use raspberry tomatoes
- one red bell pepper
- four carrots
spread them on a baking tray, sprinkle with olive oil (about 2-3 tablespoons), coarse salt and black pepper. put the tray in the oven and roast for about 40minutes in 200*C/380*F.
Make some vegetable stock - a bit over half a liter. When the vegetables are ready, put them in a pot with the stock, pour some stock on the baking tray and scrape the rests of the vegetables, pour it back in the pot.
Add some turmeric - just a tip of a teaspoon - when too much, it'll change the taste dramatically. You can also season with hot paprika if it's cold outside. Then blend it really good until it's thick and creamy. Serve hot with fresh rye bread. Some Parmesan and fresh, chopped basil leaves won't hurt. And a wheat beer.

a live performance of gusgus
two modular synths with effects/samplers + vocals. rather party music yet quite a set with acidy analogue hardware sounds and delayed, looped, processed vocals. mashes really cool together i think. and quite impressive performance wise. interaction and natural stageabilty. they have so much fun with their music and rearrange compositions on the fly, making minute minute lp tracks into almost ten-minute, fluctuating pieces. like it.

i just upgraded to sony pcm d50 + a denecke ps2 phantom power unit for the xlrs . i decided to get it after researching a few different xlr units. Following atricle at Rene Coronado's blog as well as e-mailing with a few other users of such setup convinced me to go ahead with denecke. no doubt best price to quality raito. worth a look for everybody with d50 but no xlrs yet.

it arrived yesterday and i haven't had much time to play with it but the first recordings are pretty impressive in comparison to zoom h4n. seems like a great purchase.

loop player does that - stretch function on and than you change the length. but that's just for playing files, no can do with external sound source i'd say.

i'd build following chain
loop/file player/soundin --> dlgranulator or nebuliser (has a shifter and filter) or even pulsecomb (all have pitch shifting slider) --> live looper
not a signle unit contraption but will work
