The physical records will be sent within two weeks.
First twenty orders will come with a 13x19 cm photo print, signed by all involved artists.

'Bridges' is limited to a numbered edition of 250 and comes in a matte coated gatefold

MACHINEFABRIEK - SOL SKETCHES

This album collects 21 sketches that I've made for a soundtrack of a documentary about Sol LeWitt.
It'll be released as a limited (to 100 copies) 4 x 10-inch set by Champion Version,
and as a self released CD and download. Both (physical) formats come with a custom made eraser....

Vital Weekly: "The minimalism of LeWitt is excellently represented by Machinefabriek here.
Minimalist piano sketches with great sparseness, lots of quiet moments, sometimes swelling
and rising (the electronics treating the piano sounds perhaps) and perfect for a rainy sunday
afternoon. Dramatic music in a great way."

The CD and download are available here:
http://machinefabriek.bandcamp.com/album/sol-sketches

For the vinyl set, keep an eye on the Champion Version website
http://www.championversion.com/
I'll post a message here when it becomes available...

By the way, some early previews of the documentary can be seen here:

SELF PROMOTION / BRIDGES - DOUBLE PICTURE DISC
« on: July 21, 2011, 09:58:53 am »

Bridges is a project in the form of a double 12-inch picture disc.
The graphic design (by Gerco Hididnk) was the starting point.
Field recordings were made at the bridges that were photographed
for the sleeve design (forming small films when spinning the vinyl).

Various improvisers were invited to react on the field recordings:
Jon Mueller, Burkhard Beins, Mats Gustafsson, Erik Carlsson,
Jim Denley, Steven Hess, Espen Reinertsen and Nate Wooley
The result was mixed by me, and mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi

More info here:

This independently published release will see the light of day in September.

Cheers, rutger

SELF PROMOTION / Re: GARETH DAVIS & MACHINEFABRIEK 'JAZZ STANDARDS'
« on: July 19, 2011, 05:47:05 am »
Vital Weekly: "...this short record, four minutes only, is actually very nice. It doesn't resemble anything remotely jazz, and that's no doubt the whole point of this. I read on the label's website that these standards were done a lot in the 60s and since then hardly. This brings these standards to an entirely new level." http://machinefabriek.bandcamp?.com/

This is the result:
