Hi, I personally think the lemur and max/msp complement each other quite perfectly, and i cannot imagine going back to another controller for this app. Also, you don't have to be a programming guru to use it, because you can use it at different levels, from the pretty straightforward to ultimately intricate ways. It's like having max objects you can manipulate directly, and interfaces you can customize following your needs, quite far from the monome philosophy I think.
Also, you can emulate the monome on the lemur, but not the opposite...
The only think sometimes missing is the tactile feel, indeed.
But this time I'm also listening to the growing rumors about the apple tablet, and I think you should wait some weeks to see what comes out of it. *If* a tablet is released from Apple, and *if* the same development fever occurs as for the iPhone, I think we'll see some interesting things in a close future. It could also mean a price drop for the Lemur and this whole multitouch technology (stantum, etc...)
