« on: February 10, 2012, 05:06:37 am »yeah, looks like PC only. it's a myth that the DX is hard to program. all you need is a basic concept of FM synthesis... or, use it like i do.. as a 6-oscillator sinewave pad instrument
i'll try to get some of my NM patches up here in the coming days.
it took me time to learn some dx7 basics and still an fm aficionado (kb+velocity tracking here are a nightmare, imho), but I ended using a simple basic tip: starting the desired or blank program with algorithms 16,17,18, leaving operator 1 on, and turning the others off.

..much more clear to edit following "hierarchy" on operators (and yes, that copy+paste tip on envelopes helps a lot too!)
love the alising from this machine (converters?), especially on envelopes. dx-tx can sound warm too!
now it´s time for making some ambien-ish stuff with 80´s piano-flute presets
