...i've never heard a dj set by autechre that i've liked (including this one).
it always sounds sooo old-school and retro cheesy. the hip-hop they're into
is so lame and i think there's really a big gap between the music they make
themselves and the music they spin on the decks.
i think the hip hop in this mix is pretty excellent. i wish the venetian snares stuff wasn't there, and that metal track was a bit of a shock! but the last 25 mins is just lovely.

i know what you mean. i used to dig lots of that tigerbeat stuff but they lost me once it went overly breakcore.

Feen 'O Berg - In Stereo
Not so sure about this... didn't leave a big impression yet...
i was really excited about this, but I'm also a little undecided about this one. I'm missing the impact of the first two ones at the moment. i think i need to give this a couple of more spins
that's too bad about the negative reactions here. i haven't heard this yet, but i've been looking forward to it. maybe they work better as a live improv group as opposed to studio-bound work.

mcclellands highland single malt was given to me last week as a gift, and for a mid-price malt it's very good. i've had the lowaland ages ago and thought it too was decent, so might see if their islay is any good.
