300 Acting Spaces - Extremely cool open source project I am a part of/Soundcloud multitracks/live streams/Youtube HD

All right, I'll give you the links first:

http://soundcloud.com/300-acting-spaces
https://twitter.com/300_as

My bandmate and good friend Alex Gunia has started up a gigantic project. He is going to play/arrange 300 concerts of improvised music. Almost all concerts will be free of charge, they will all be streamed live on the internet
in 720HD. All concerts will start at exactly 19.30(local time) so it is easy to catch the stream. After the concert is finished it will be uploaded to Youtube within 24 hours. The video recording/stream contains
5 HD videocameras who are randomly crossfaded between(Looks damn sexy).

Everything is also recorded in multitrack. All tracks are uploaded to Soundcloud. So you get both the master for listening to, and also all the single tracks for exploring, remixing, sampling, whatever you want (not for commercial use).
First year is in Oslo, Norway. Then the plan is to go to Berlin/Cologne, Beijing, New York and Tokyo.

We have 9 kick off concerts and then the grand opening is this saturday.

On the opening Stian Westerhus (Nils Petter Molvær group, Monolithic, Puma, Bladed, Eldbjørg Raknes, Crimetime Orchestra and many more) plays a solo set,
and our duo NOISER (http://www.noiser.info/) is playing a set featuring the amazing Sigbjørn Apeland.

I think some of you guys will be really interested in this project. So head over to http://www.300as.com/ and have a look.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Also, here is the description from the actual website by Alex Gunia himself.

"300 acting spaces

300 acting spaces is an open public, independent and non-commercial artistic research project initiated by the electronic musician Alex Gunia. It deals with the installation of especially designed underground performance laboratories for electronic and elctro-acoustic music located in Oslo, Berlin, New York, Beijing and Tokyo during the years 2012 until 2015. Together with national and local artists, these facilities will be used to go into an open, creative process of performing three hundred concerts. 300 acting spaces shall mainly be recognized as an open arena for modern musicians, but in addition to that, there will be a constant interdisciplinary exchange with visual artists.

All performances will be professionally recorded and (live-) streamed in the internet and 300 acting spaces will create an open source for artists, observers, scientists and the interested general public. By using social media platforms and the internet as a main communication tool the project is also experimenting with the usage and development of modern technics for the worldwide dispersion of music. The team of independent creative cells and specialists being involved in finding practical solutions, creating artistic meaning and developing theoretical contributions around 300 acting spaces is constantly growing.

Following the main idea of artistic research and in addition to the artistic outcome, a constant blog during the whole project and personal critical reflections in combination with an specified evaluation process incorporating the audience and the performers will be the basis for a final documentary book."

FIELD RECORDING / Re: weirdest field recording happenings go here...
« on: December 15, 2011, 06:07:08 am »
sure do.
both gold cold mics (contactmicrophones.com), and Aquarian has three types:
minijack - theese go into the the little jack input on the back wich provides them with plugin power.
jack - passive and can be plugged into the inputs in the bottom
xlr - goes into the xlr input(duh)  8)

i think wichever one of these two companies you go for you will be a happy guy.
i would go with xlr or minijack though.
